Multilinguality

Multilinguality

We’ve noticed that a lot of people install third-party plugins and other software to either translate their themes to other languages or provide multiple languages for their international customers. We tried a bunch of them and found out that there’s a steep learning curve. To solve this, we’ve provided a built-in multilingual feature and language translation feature so that you won’t have to install anything else.

Translating the theme

Traditionally, translating a theme can be a pain since you’ll have to deal with editing language files (those .mo and .po files). Now you won’t have to deal with learning proper WP internationalization, you’ll just have to click on the edit language button:

Clicking the edit button brings up our own built-in translation editor. Providing translations is as easy as just filling in the blanks!

Making your site multilingual

Making your site multilingual doesn’t have to be complicated. The screenshot below shows how easy it is to add a new language to your site. You just need to select 2 things: a language and a locale.

Just select a language and a locale to use

After adding a new language, new fields will be added in various locations in your administrator panel specific to the new language. Just fill those up, and they will be automatically shown depending on the current language of the theme.

Switching languages within the site

When you’ve added new languages to your site, a language switcher will be shown on the top of your site. This is automatically placed for your convenience!
